The below dates pertain to the Expression of Interest. Following review of the Expressions of Interest, full Research Funding Applications will be solicited by the Centre of Excellence.
In recognizing that Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members each experience their transition to civilian life differently, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) has established a model of well-being for life after service, called the Seven Domains of Well-being. This model considers well-being across seven domains: employment or other main activity, finances, health, life skills and preparedness, social integration, housing/physical environment, and cultural and social environment (Government of Canada, 2019).¹
Although the Seven Domains of Well-being have been identified, there is not yet agreement on how to measure them. As a result, the Centre of Excellence is undertaking research to define optimal constructs to measure each of the Seven Domains. This research project will be a knowledge synthesis to find the optimal construct(s) to measure the Domain of ‘Lifeskills and Preparedness.’ This will be a one-year research project.
For the purposes of this competition, we are using VAC’s definition of ‘Lifeskills and Preparedness.’ Click here for further information.
The total funding available for this one-year research project is $75,000 CAD.
The Centre of Excellence uses an e-mail application process. Please complete the Expression of Interest and the Terms and Conditions and submit both documents in PDF format, along with all required attachments, via e-mail to email@example.com.
All Expressions of Interest are adjudicated by the Centre of Excellence. All applicants will be notified of the results of the adjudication. Successful applicants will be asked to submit a Research Funding Application. Applicants who are not successful will be withdrawn from the competition.
Click here to view our Funding Guidelines, which provide further information on application, review, results, funding, integrity, and Sex and Gender-Based Analysis Plus (SGBA)+. All applicants are expected to read these guidelines thoroughly before applying. Applications that do not adhere to these guidelines will not be considered.
