We invited Canadian Veterans living with chronic pain to share a photo that captures a moment, challenge, source of strength or part of their everyday experience, along with a short description.

The captions can help explain what the photo means, share the story behind it, or describe how it connects to their experience with chronic pain.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Through My Lens: Canadian Veteran Stories of Resilience and Chronic Pain.

We are honoured to share the completed gallery, featuring photos and reflections submitted by Canadian Veterans living with chronic pain. Each image offers a unique perspective on what life with chronic pain can look like, from daily challenges and moments of uncertainty to sources of strength, adaptation, and resilience.

These stories were shared voluntarily and generously. Some contributors chose to identify themselves, while others shared anonymously. Every submission reflects a personal experience, and we invite you to engage with the gallery in a way that feels right for you.

Through these photos and brief reflections, Veterans have helped create a greater understanding of the realities of living with chronic pain. Together, these stories highlight not only the impact of pain, but also the determination, creativity, and resilience that can exist alongside it.
